I’m an Intern at Resilient Brain Prescott.
Jesse is a graduate student at Capella University, where he is completing his master’s degree in clinical psychology with a focus on clinical counseling. He is currently interning at Resilient Brain Prescott. A native of South Dakota with deep family roots in the region, Jesse is eager to explore new horizons. He is particularly drawn to Adlerian Psychology, founded by Alfred Adler, which emphasizes individual and holistic psychology, focusing on the whole person rather than just individual components.
In his free time, Jesse enjoys mission work, reading, skiing, and spending time with his cats. His therapeutic approach will incorporate various techniques tailored to each individual and their unique circumstances, prioritizing methods that work best for the person and promote educational growth. He will be serving adults, individually, and couples.
EMDR-As a counseling intern being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Jesse is immersed in a transformative approach to therapy that helps clients process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. His training focuses on understanding the eight-phase protocol of EMDR, learning how to create a safe and supportive environment for clients, and developing skills to facilitate bilateral stimulation effectively. This process enables clients to reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity and fostering adaptive insights. As he integrates this powerful modality into his work, he is continually amazed by its potential to promote profound healing and resilience, while deepening his understanding of trauma-informed care. The experience is both challenging and rewarding, as it allows him to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those he serve.
